Podgorica, (MINA) – The Bosniak Party will not support any initiatives that go against the Constitution and that seek to abolish the affirmative action for representation of ethnic minorities, Head of the Parliamentary Group of Minority Parties Ervin Ibrahimovic has stated.
According to a press release from the Parliament’s Public Relations Service, Ibrahimovic met on Wednesday with Head of the EU Delegation in Montenegro Aivo Orav for talks on the formation of the Interim Committee for Further Reform of Electoral and Other Legislation.
Ibrahimovic is said to have confirmed that the Bosniak Party will delegate its representative in the Committee, describing its formation as a step forward on Montenegro’s European path.
He explained that the Bosniak Party will be a sincere partner in all the initiative aimed at improving the election legislation.
Ibrahimovic underlined the importance of the EU Delegation’s role in providing support in the EU accession process.
Orav reportedly said that the Interim Committee has an ambitious agenda and that the EU will carefully monitor its implementation.
