Committee endorses next year’s budget

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The parliamentary Economy, Finance and Budget Committee has proposed to the Parliament to adopt the Budget Bill for 2019, which is, according to Minister of Finance Darko Radunovic, completely sustainable.

Radunovic said that the proposed piece of legislation envisaged that the total budget would amount to €2.38 billion.

“Of that amount, 910.74 million is planned for the current spending, €700 million for the public funds, €320.93 million for the capital expenditure, €432.35 million for the financing transactions, and €20 million for reserves,” said Radunovic.

According to him, the next year’s budget is a result of continuous implementation of fiscal consolidation measures, aimed at increasing the budget revenues and optimising the budget expenditures, in order to reduce budget deficit and create conditions for the public debt to a decrease gradually.

“The planned source revenues of the next year’s budget amount to €1.82 billion or 38.2 percent of the gross domestic product,” Radunovic said, adding the total expenditures were expected to increase by €40 million to €1.97 billion or 41 percent of GDP.

He said that the main reason for this were additional investments in the infrastructure. Longer version of article is available on a link MINA ENGLISH SERVIS
