Conference on EU integration and sustainable development to take place in Berane

Podgorica, (MINA) – The Montenegrin Pan-European Union (CPEU) will organize in Berane during the following two days the conference under name “Building of Sustainable Future for Montenegro through EU Accession Process and the UN Sustainable Development Goals”.

The conference is supported by the EU through the Jean Monnet project “Through Integration towards Sustainability in Montenegro /TISIM project/- ERASMUS+, Jean Monnet Action”, and co-financed by the Ministry of Public Administration (MJU).

The speakers during the first day of the conference, under the name UN Agenda 2030- EU Agenda 2025, will be CPEU president Gordana Djurovic, deputy Chief Negotiator Marko Mrdak and advisor to Berane municipality president Darko Stojanovic

The conference speakers will also be Miodrag Dragisic from UNDP office in Montenegro, Ana Gojkovic of MJU and Sreten Lutovac, director of Panto Malisic Grammar School.

The topic of the second day of conference is Measuring sustainability: NSOR 2030 and the EU Agenda.

Participants of that panel discussion are Marija Tripunovic of the EU Integration Office, Natasa Vojinovic of Monstat, Ivana Stojanovic of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism and Gordana Despotovic Djekic from the government’s Secretary General.

The Conference, according to the press release, is an opportunity to celebrate 30 years of implementation of the Jean Monnet project in the EU, which is being carried out in more than 80 countries of the world, among which is Montenegro, and promotes education and EU communication.

At the end of the conference, as announced, Recommendations will be adopted, which will support better communication and strengthening of joint efforts of all participants in the process of reaching Montenegro’s unique developmental and integration goals, in order to promote greener and more humane development of Montenegro on its path towards the full-fledged EU membership.
