Djukanovic most popular politician

Podgorica, (MINA) – Public trust in the government and other institutions in Montenegro has declined significantly, and Milo Djukanovic is the best rated politician.

These are the key results of the second annual survey “Political Public Opinion in Montenegro” done by the Center for Democracy and Human Rights (CEDEM) in the period from 26 November to 8 December, on a sample of 1,004 respondents.

CEDEM Director Milena Besic has said that more citizens believe that Montenegro is moving in a wrong direction, 42.5%, than those who feel the opposite, 32.5%.

“Compared to last year’s survey, the number of citizens who believe that Montenegro is moving in the right direction has decreased significantly, while the number of those who feel that Montenegro is on the wroth path has increased,” Besic stated.

She said that the survey has shown that number of the people who are dissatisfied with the work of the Government is greater than those who are pleased with how the executive branch works.

“The survey has revealed that 27.7% are very dissatisfied, 22.8% are mostly satisfied, 21.3% have no opinion, 19.9% are mostly dissatisfied and 8.2% are very satisfied,” Besic said.

The reason for that, Besic explains, could be the constant crisis between the government and the opposition, as well as the current controversies surrounding the removal of the Church in Rumija, Podgorica Assembly and the arrest of MP Nebojsa Medojevic.

She said that the best rated politician, on a scale from one to five, is Milo Djukanovic with the average rate of 2.73, followed by Aleksa Becic with 2.51 and Damir Sehovic with 2.39.

“Fourth is Dusko Markovic, fifth Ivan Brajovic, sixth Dritan Abazovic, seventh Vladimir Jokovic, eight Draginja Vuksanovic, ninth Miodrag Lekic and tenth Nebojsa Medojevic,” Besic said.
