Main and additional works to cost €895 million

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Osman Nurkovic has said that construction of the priority section of the Bar-Boljare motorway, between Smokovac and Matesevo, including the main and additional unforeseen works, will amount to a total of €895 million.

He said at the Parliament that the unforeseen works had amounted to €85 million so far, a little more than the budgeted 10 percent of the value of main works, amounting to €810 million.

“This adds up to €895 million,” said Nurkovic, answering the question of Slaven Radunovic, MP of the Democratic Front, who wanted to know how much money would be paid for the motorway construction from the state budget.

Nurkovic reminded that the Government had recently concluded three annexes to the agreement for design and construction of the Smokovac-Matesevo motorway section, defining the additional works, with China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC).

These annexes are related to the construction of the first phase of the Smokovac ramp and the water supply system, the net value of which is €30.45 million and €14.2 million respectively.

Another annex pertains to the permanent electricity supply to the open route and the Moracica Bridge worth €4.8 million.

“In addition to the signed annexes, the Government has put Monteput company in charge of the development of a permanent electricity supply of the motorway section, the gross value of which €38.2 million,” said Nurkovic.

He said that the selection of contractors for these works would be made in a public and transparent procedure.

According to the Energy Law, subsequent repayment of the loan for development and management of the energy infrastructure will be taken over by the Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System (CGES) and the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS).

Nukrovic said that, according to experts, the Smokovac-Matesevo section was the most demanding part of the motorway in Europe. Longer version of article is available on a link MINA ENGLISH SERVIS
