Montenegro improves air connectivity

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the annual report by the Airports Council International (ACI), Montenegro is the third country in the region in terms of air connectivity, immediately after Serbia and Croatia.

Executive Director of the Airports of Montenegro Danilo Orlandic says that the latest ACI report shows how much the company has done in the previous period to improve the air connectivity.

“According to the report, the Airport of Tivat is among the fastest-growing destinations with the growth rate of 352 percent. The Airport of Podgorica saw as much as 284 percent growth and was the fastest-growing destination in the previous decade in the category of the region’s capitals,” Orlandic says in a press release.

He reminds that 36 new direct routes were launched last year, saying that Montenegro is now connected with over 70 destinations through the Podgorica and Tivat airports.

“This proves that the Airports of Montenegro always meet the needs of the Montenegrin tourism industry and our citizens, who can now reach many destinations directly from our airports,” says Orlandic, adding that the company will continue to follow the same policy.
