Next year’s budget amounts to €2.38 billion

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Minister of Finance Darko Radunovic has said that the Budget Bill for 2019, worth €2.38 billion is characterized by a faster increase in revenues compared with expenditures, higher investments in infrastructure and regular payment of salaries, pensions and social welfare.

He said that the next year’s budget was structured to include €910.74 million for the current spending, €700 million for the public funds, €320.93 million for the capital expenditure, €432.35 million for the financing of transactions, and €20 million for reserves.

“Next year’s budget is characterized by a faster increase in revenues as compared with expenditures, i.e. a controlled increase in spending, further changes in the expenditure structure, and the deficit reduction to €142.3 million or 2.97 percent of GDP,” Radunovic said at a press conference.

According to the legislative proposal, the source revenues will be €71 million higher than this year.

“The budget for the next year is characterized by optimization of the current budget expenditure, higher investments in infrastructure, reflected in the highest capital budget since the restoration of independence, higher investments in education, sports, agriculture and entrepreneurship, and a reduction of deficit to €556 million, out of which €180 million worth of deposits are already available,” Radunovic said.

He said that the current budget expenditure would be completely financed form the source revenues, adding that the surplus would amount to €197 million.

Radunovic believes that this is one of the main conditions for the fiscal policy planning.
