No necessary majority for election of Judicial Council members

Podgorica, (MINA) – The Montenegrin parliament MPs failed to appoint four Judicial Council members, among the prominent lawyers, since the needed majority could not be reached.

The candidates for four Judicial Council members among the prominent lawyers are Ljubinka Popovic Kustudic, Vesna Ratkovic, Veselin Rackovic and Rifat Hadrovic.

54 votes are necessary for their appointment in the first round of the vote, and 49 in the second.

The opposition MPs did not attend the vote.

The parliament approved appointment of eight members of the RTCG Council, and another one will be appointed subsequently.

The term to the current assembly of the RTCG Council expired on Wednesday.
