One-third of structure span completed at Moracica Bridge

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) says that it has completed one-third of the structure span for the Mocarica Bridge, on the route of the future Bar-Boljare motorway, adding that the works are progressing according to the schedule.

“After the construction of all five piers and two abutments, 299 metres of road construction have been built, which is nearly one-third of the total span of the Boracica Bridge, which is 960 metres long in total,” the press release says.

According to the company, around 150 workers are busy on this construction site every day.

“The structure span is built in segments by making progress from each pier to the left and to the right towards the next one,” the company says.

The segments extend between 2.5 and four metres and they will be longer as they approach the middle of the bridge, meaning that the progress will be faster in that phase.

“According to the estimates, around 30,000 cubic metres of concrete will be used to construct the structure span,” CRBC says, adding that over 5,000 tons of rebar have been built in the structure.

The company says that the Moracica Bridge has become a symbol of the Montenegrin motorway, as reported by all local and leading regional media outlets.

“The highest pier is 160 metres high, while the height from the bottom of the River Moracica to the road surface will be approximately 200 metres,” the press release says.
