Podgorica, (MINA) – The opposition, however ideologically and politically diverse, can find common ground on creating a better election environment through reforms of election legislation and other laws, officials of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) have stated, while urging all parties to be part of this process.
SDP Presidium member Ivan Vujovic told Mina that in this way the opposition could put stronger pressure on the ruling DPS.
According to him, in the situation of the opposition’s disunity, the SDP has decided to remain politically active in the Parliament.
“The main process should be about creating a better election environment through reforms of the election and other legislation. Pressured by the EU, DPS has accepted a dialogue on the broad range of topics concerning free and fair elections,” Vujovic stated.
He argues that, however ideologically and politically diverse, the opposition can find a common ground on this subject.
“We therefore urge all parties to be part of this process and, in doing so, to put stronger pressure on the DPS, since our requests for fair elections will coincide with those of the EU,” Vujovic said.
