Parliament elects members of Election Reform Committee

Podgorica, (MINA) – The Montenegrin Parliament has elected members of the Committee for Further Reform of Electoral and Other Legislation, appointing DPS MP Branimir Gvozdenovic as its Chair.

MP of the Democratic Bloc (DF) Strahinja Bulajic has been elected as Vice Chair of the Committee.

The decision establishing the Committee has been backed by 57 MPs, with one abstention.

The Committee comprises seven members from the ruling coalition and as many from the opposition.

The Committee members from the ruling DPS include Marta Scepanovic, Miodrag Vukovic and Predrag Sekulic.

Members from the parliamentary group of minority parties include Genci Nimanbegu and Ervin Ibrahimovic, while the SD-Liberal Party Group is represented by Boris Mugosa.

In addition to Bulajic, the DF is represented by Branka Bosnjak and Predrag Bulatovic, while the SDP’s member in the Committee is Rasko Konjevic.

Miodrag Lekic is representing the Socialist People’s Party-Demos Parliamentary Group.

The special group of MPs have said that they would take no part in the Committee’s work, proposing that their seat should be taken by another opposition group.

The Committee will not include members of the Democrats and URA, who are still boycotting the Parliament.
