Parliament pledges prompt ratification of Macedonia’s NATO access protocol

Podgorica, (MINA) – The Montenegrin Parliament will act promptly in scheduling a session to ratify Macedonia’s NATO accession protocol.

“In that way, it will symbolically demonstrate Montenegro’s friendship towards the Republic of Macedonia. As a NATO member, Montenegro confirms strong support to the open-door policy, especially in relation to aspiring members from the Western Balkans,” the Parliament Speaker’s Office has stated.

Following the completion of relevant procedures within NATO and the Montenegrin Government, the Bill ratifying North Macedonia’s NATO accession protocol will be put forward to the Parliament.

Ambassadors of 29 NATO member states signed the Accession Protocol in Brussels on Wednesday.

Greece was the first country to ratify the deal in the Parliament late last week. Longer version of article is available on a link MINA ENGLISH SERVIS
