Partnership to be used for strengthening of economic cooperation

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Deputy Prime Minister Milutin Simovic and the U.S. Ambassador Judy Rising Reinke have agreed that Montenegro and the United States of America should use their stable partnership to strengthen their economic and trade cooperation, as well as to identify and implement concrete business and investment projects.

In today’s open and friendly talk with Reinke, Simovic underlined that Montenegro and the United Stated maintained excellent bilateral relations and partnership at all levels.

“Simovic and Reinke agreed that the stable relations and alliance of the two countries should be used in the coming period to additionally strengthen their economic and trade cooperation and to identify and implement concrete business and investment projects,” says a press release issued by the Government.

At the meeting, Simovic presented the Government’s successful fiscal consolidation measures, aimed at developing a more favourable business and investment environment and ensuring further economic growth.

He expressed readiness of the Government to carry out, in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy and Ambassador Reinke, the activities focusing on the attraction of American investors interested in implementation of different projects in Montenegro.

Simovic said that the energy, agriculture, tourism and infrastructure were particularly attractive fields for the investors.

Reinke welcomed Montenegro’s efforts focusing on strengthening of its economy, overall stability and improvement of the living standard.

She said that the country should continue to work on improving its business climate, allowing for a greater presence of American investors, adding that this was one of her priorities.
