Pazin: State’s answer to Sindjelic extradition request to be known soon

Podgorica, (MINA) – Justice Minister Zoran Pazin said that the court will decide if the conditions are met for extradition of Sasa Sindjelic to Croatia, and added that the state’s position in this case will be known soon.

Answering to the question of Democratic Front MP Milun Zogovic during the PM’s Questions on Wednesday if and when Sindjelic would be extradited to Croatia, Pazin said that the case regarding this extradition request is a case as any other to the Ministry of Justice.

He explained that the court decides if the conditions are met for extradition, adding that he respects the court’s opinions regarding international legal aid.

Pazin reminded that administrative proceedings are also in progress, as Sindjelic also filed an asylum request to the Interior Ministry.

“We will wait for the Interior Ministry’s decision and let’s not speculate about allegedly different views of the ministers of justice and the interior affairs. Those views are harmonious and very soon the state’s position in this case will be known”, said Pazin.

He added that he did not want to anticipate the decision, but that the position will certainly be principled and based on the law.

Sindjelic is a cooperating witness in the case of the failed coup on the election day.
