Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Through different programmes and calls, the Ministry of Science provides support for innovations, at both early and more mature stages of their development, in order to boost the knowledge economy and give impetus to a new tide in the Montenegrin economy based on science and research.
Acting Director General for Innovation and Technological Development at the Ministry of Science Branka Zizic says that a call offering grants wroth €100,000 for innovations was launched this summer.
“A total amount available to finance innovations is €700,000. A certain percentage of co-financing is required from the participants in the project, which could be companies, science and research institutions,” Zizic says in an interview for the PR Centar.
She says that the call will be open until 20 September, while the projects are expected to include the priorities defined in the Smart Specialization Strategy.
“There are three vertical and one horizontal priorities. They are related to energy and sustainable environment, agriculture and health tourism, while horizontal technologies are information and communication technologies, which facilitate modernization of the more traditional economic sectors,” said Zizic.
