Projects to be linked together for a more efficient tax administration

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Minister of Finance, Darko Radunovic, has said that the projects focusing on the tax administration reform and introduction of electronic fiscalization should be linked together in order to increase both efficiency of the Tax Administration and budget revenues.

Radunovic met today with the head of the World Bank (WB) Office for Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Emanuel Salinas, to discuss the preparations for the annual meeting of the WB and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and analysis of the WB’s portfolio in Montenegro.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry, Radunovic underlined the importance of a successful implementation of the tax administration reform and the need to link this project with the introduction of the electronic fiscalization system in Montenegro.

Salinas expressed openness for cooperation in finding a model that would respond to the need for establishment of a sustainable tax revenue collection system.

He said that the WB would continue to provide support to Montenegro in its efforts to improve the overall living standard, primarily through the Employment and Economic Growth Project.

“They agreed on the topics to be discussed in more detail at the forthcoming annual WB and IMF meetings,” the press release says.
