SDP’s motion submitted to opposition

Podgorica, (MINA) – The Social Democratic Party has presented to other parliamentary groups of the opposition a motion for extraordinary session of the Parliament, in an effort to collect the required number of MP’s signatures to support a session dedicated to discussing the so-called ‘Envelope Affair’.

SDP President Ranko Krivokapic has stated that the session would seek to produce a set of conclusions in relation to the affair.

“In recent weeks, we could hear public allegations, often backed by concrete evidence, which call into question the basic functioning of the rule of law, amidst some sort of joint and coordinated effort by the so-called independent institutions and the top circles of partisan power,” Krivokapic stated.

According to him, the actions taken by the institutions in the affair which involves top government circles is probably the best evidence to support the findings by European partners about ‘the captured state’.

“We believe that the opposition has a duty to discuss, directly in front of the Montenegrin public, all elements of the partisan or gangster assault on the foundations of the rule of law,” Krivokapic said.
