Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to Executive Director of Air Montenegro Vukadin Stojanovic, the national airline could still end this year with a profit, but a continued increase in fuel prices may jeopardize that goal.

 

Speaking at a press conference, Stojanovic said the company does not yet have preliminary financial results for the first six months of the year, as it is still waiting for all invoices to be received and for the final impact of fuel prices to be assessed.

 

“It is very difficult to finish this year with a positive financial result. We are still in a position where we can achieve that despite all the negative factors. However, if fuel price fluctuations continue at this pace, it would prevent us from reaching that goal,” Stojanovic said.

 

He noted that, globally, even low-cost airlines are seeing profit margins that are three to four times lower than they were a year ago.

 

“A significant number of airlines are reporting substantial losses,” Stojanovic added.

 

Chairman of Air Montenegro’s Board of Directors Tihomir Dragas outlined initiatives that have improved the company’s digital capabilities.

 

“We have launched a new website, a mobile application, and a new contact center offering multiple communication channels for passengers and customers,” Dragas said.

 

He added that the airline has also introduced numerous digital communication channels integrated with artificial intelligence.
